Who's old?

I've always said I couldn't possibly be a senior because I was never middle-aged. Middle-age was always at least ten years older than me. Well, that argument went out the window when I hit 70. There's something about being a septuagenarian that changes your perspective.

Colors

Yes, I'm still on the letter C...

As a child, my mother loved to dress me in reds. So much, in fact, that as an adult I avoided red for many years. My favorite color was warm blues. I wore a LOT of blue clothes. One day I found a sale on a red suit. As a professional, I needed suits and when they were on sale, I would grab them.

This was a turning point, I fell in love with red again and that love has lasted over forty years. Blue? Not so much. I now find myself avoiding clothing in blues. I have also discovered I need warm reds, not cool reds. If you've ever dabbled with what season you are, you understand. I am pretty sure I am a warm autumn.

So what are my favorite colors right now? What colors am I using to build a capsule wardrobe in mostly wool? Teals, olive greens, burgundy/mauve, with a dash of neutrals (black, white, gray). Accessory colors are in warm red and coral colors. I even have Allbirds Wool Runner shoes in burgundy and teal!

Yes, I know there are blues in the chart that are good for me, but I'm just not there. Oh, and I do have a short-sleeve merino tee-shirt in a light lavender that isn't on the list, but I love it (and it's a Woolx tee and they are so awesome).

Have you ever had your seasons done (or tried to do them online)? What are your favorite clothing colors?

Thoughts & Takeaways - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

My 100 Day Photos

I really enjoyed this challenge even though I was basically team basic all the way through. It's been an interesting 100 days. Here are a ten thoughts and ten takeaways both from wearing my Wool& Everett tunic for 100 days and from buying and wearing a lot of other wool items.

Day 100 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

It's official! 100 Days of wearing my Wool& Everett tunic and I still love it (although I do agree the L fits me better than this XL. Today I'm wearing all wool with the exception of the mock turtleneck (32 degrees). Branwyn busty bra, Icebreaker undies, Allbirds leggings, Allbirds Wool Runners, and my Everett from Wool&.

Today's necklace is from Ecuador where we watched women and men both hand make these gorgeous beaded items. This is one of my favorite necklaces and I need to remember to take it cruising when it's cool enough for the mock turtle (I need to find a black wool mock turtleneck).

Later today I will post my thoughts on the challenge and what I took away from doing it.

Day 99 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Almost there and today is turning out to be a nice one with a high of 70 and mostly sunny. I opted for some bright Viv Collection leggings from Amazon, my Forcool merino ankle socks, and my new Wool Runners from Allbirds in teal (Emerald Green) to go along with my Everett.

The necklace is once again from Amazon and one I dearly love.

Day 98 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

I haven't lost weight but it's really apparent I need the L in an Everett and not the XL. Sunday evening this will go in the wash and then get sold on Monday. I look forward to having both the burgundy and black in the L size.

Today is team basic (again) - warm day (last for a while) so pulled on my favorite black Little Donkey Andy pants and topped the outfit with a necklace I got while living in Ecuador. It's surprisingly lightweight.

Day 97 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Having a little fun today with my black & white teddy bear skeleton leggings and my skeleton cameo necklace along with my Forcool merino ankle socks and Allbirds Wool Runners shoes. Still pretty much team basic though!

Day 95 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Early morning - thus the pained look on my face. Our new roof is going on and they arrived way before I was ready to get up. Today is a black Segments base layer from Costco, Viv leggings from Amazon, Forcool merino ankle socks from Amazon, my favorite Allbirds Wool Runners in burgundy, and (of course) my burgundy Everett.

Today's necklace is also from our time in Ecuador.

Day 94 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Didn't get to sleep until after 3:30 so slept in till 9:30 only to wake up to a colder than usual house. The power went off sometime during the night. The generator is running but as cold as it is, the HVAC unit is struggling to get it warmer.

So I layered up with a Segments dark teal base layer from Costco, my Woolx Stella petite leggings (dark gray), Forcool merino socks from Amazon, and my favorite pair of Allbirds Wool Runners. My necklace today was purchased when we were traveling out west during our RV days. I love the bear fetish.

Day 89 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Another cold day but it's sunny, so that's better. Today I have on my vintage blue Allbirds leggings, grey Forcool wool ankle socks from Amazon, black Duluth Trading elbow length mock turtleneck, high top dark blue Allbirds Wool Runner Mizzles, and my burgundy Everett.

I never wear necklaces unless I'm unless going somewhere special but decided to add on I got while living in Ecuador. I think it works quite well.

Day 84 - Wool& 100 Day Challenge

Cooper is missing his buddy, Murphy, who has headed to the vet for some minor surgery today so I invited him in for the photo. Segments teal long-sleeve tee under my Everett today, along with 32Degrees fleece leggings (it's cold and damp) and Forcool wool ankle socks.

Day 83 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Chilly day today but no plans to go anywhere so Team Basic it is! Minus33 midweight baselayer leggings (too big but warm), Everett layered over my Woolx Remi long-sleeve tee. My shoes are Allbirds Wool Runner Mizzles in a very dark blue (almost black). They're water repellent and it's supposed to rain today.

And yes, that's Cooper, our oldest Goldendoodle photo-bombing me!

Day 82 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Yes, I know I chopped off my head but I wanted to show my leggings as well as my first pair of Allbirds Wool Runners that I found on ebay (now I'm addicted). They have a cute little bee embroidered on the side and were brand new. I suspect they were purchased for some special event or celebration. Or maybe just custom done after purchase but never worn. I don't know, but I think they're cute.

Day 81 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Look! No leggings! I've got on my Lee pants - we're going to town! Today is an errand day in a neighboring town about 40 minutes away, plus a movie, plus some shopping, plus either lunch or dinner at our favorite restaurant (all depends on the timing). Again, wearing my Katherine Barclay sweater from Costco underneath and my gray Allbirds Wool Runners.

Day 79 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Still #teambasic with my Everett layered over my Woolx Remi long-sleeve tee on top of my Amazon fun patterned leggings and my favorite burgundy Allbirds Wool Runner shoes. No socks!

Here you can really see the fun pattern - Viv Collection leggings are so soft and comfy, even if they are synthetic. These are several years old and just don't wear out.

Day 77 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

A weather aware day - we're under a tornado watch until later today, severe thunderstorms and high winds are already moving in. So I dressed for comfort - again. What a surprise - not! My Everett is layered over another Segments shirt in teal along with my teal high-top Allbirds Mizzles Wool Runners. The leggings are the same as yesterday - Minus33 midweight from Amazon (too long, but comfy & warm) and the socks are Forcool wool ankle socks (and teal colored) again.
