Colors

Yes, I'm still on the letter C...

As a child, my mother loved to dress me in reds. So much, in fact, that as an adult I avoided red for many years. My favorite color was warm blues. I wore a LOT of blue clothes. One day I found a sale on a red suit. As a professional, I needed suits and when they were on sale, I would grab them.

This was a turning point, I fell in love with red again and that love has lasted over forty years. Blue? Not so much. I now find myself avoiding clothing in blues. I have also discovered I need warm reds, not cool reds. If you've ever dabbled with what season you are, you understand. I am pretty sure I am a warm autumn.

So what are my favorite colors right now? What colors am I using to build a capsule wardrobe in mostly wool? Teals, olive greens, burgundy/mauve, with a dash of neutrals (black, white, gray). Accessory colors are in warm red and coral colors. I even have Allbirds Wool Runner shoes in burgundy and teal!

Yes, I know there are blues in the chart that are good for me, but I'm just not there. Oh, and I do have a short-sleeve merino tee-shirt in a light lavender that isn't on the list, but I love it (and it's a Woolx tee and they are so awesome).

Have you ever had your seasons done (or tried to do them online)? What are your favorite clothing colors?

Thoughts & Takeaways - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

My 100 Day Photos

I really enjoyed this challenge even though I was basically team basic all the way through. It's been an interesting 100 days. Here are a ten thoughts and ten takeaways both from wearing my Wool& Everett tunic for 100 days and from buying and wearing a lot of other wool items.

Day 100 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

It's official! 100 Days of wearing my Wool& Everett tunic and I still love it (although I do agree the L fits me better than this XL. Today I'm wearing all wool with the exception of the mock turtleneck (32 degrees). Branwyn busty bra, Icebreaker undies, Allbirds leggings, Allbirds Wool Runners, and my Everett from Wool&.

Today's necklace is from Ecuador where we watched women and men both hand make these gorgeous beaded items. This is one of my favorite necklaces and I need to remember to take it cruising when it's cool enough for the mock turtle (I need to find a black wool mock turtleneck).

Later today I will post my thoughts on the challenge and what I took away from doing it.

Day 94 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Didn't get to sleep until after 3:30 so slept in till 9:30 only to wake up to a colder than usual house. The power went off sometime during the night. The generator is running but as cold as it is, the HVAC unit is struggling to get it warmer.

So I layered up with a Segments dark teal base layer from Costco, my Woolx Stella petite leggings (dark gray), Forcool merino socks from Amazon, and my favorite pair of Allbirds Wool Runners. My necklace today was purchased when we were traveling out west during our RV days. I love the bear fetish.

Day 83 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Chilly day today but no plans to go anywhere so Team Basic it is! Minus33 midweight baselayer leggings (too big but warm), Everett layered over my Woolx Remi long-sleeve tee. My shoes are Allbirds Wool Runner Mizzles in a very dark blue (almost black). They're water repellent and it's supposed to rain today.

And yes, that's Cooper, our oldest Goldendoodle photo-bombing me!

Day 59 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Chilly day but might warm up later. Started out with my Allbirds (dark blue) Wool Runners, 32degrees mock turtleneck, and Woolx Stella leggings (in petite - yay) with my freshly washed burgundy Everett (which I still love).

Day 44 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

We got off the cruise ship this morning and drove all day, spending the night in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Here's my hotel shot of my Everett with my 32Degrees Twill Joggers, merino compression socks (have I said how much I love these?), Woolx tee, and Allbirds Wool Runners (I have worn these every day for over two weeks now, many days without socks. No sweating, love them.)

Day 43 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Last day of the cruise, been a bit punk with stomach issues but still wearing my Everett and still writing every day (at least a bit). Woolx merino t-shirt, Little Donkey Andy pants, merino compressions socks, and Allbirds Wool Runners. Loving having more merino things to wear, they're all so comfortable. Kind of like a hug.

Day 42 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Cozumel is a comfortable temperature but getting ready to rain. Perfect for my Everett, worn over Little Donkey Andy capris, a Woolx tee-shirt, and Teva Mush II flip-flops.

Day 40 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Today we are in Ochos Rios, Jamaica and it's a beautiful sunny day. I had to include my favorite towel animal, the hanging monkey. He always makes me smile. Holland America is ported off our balcony side so added that shot, too. Oh, I'm wearing my Everett over a Woolx short-sleeve shirt with merino compression socks and my Little Donkey Andy pants and Allbirds Wool Runners.

Day 39 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Ah, another day at sea and today I paired my Everett with some cruising-related leggings, my Allbirds Wool Runners, and underneath it is a Woolx short-sleeved tee. It's not cold, but if I get too warm, the Everett will come off and get draped over my shoulders. Remember how we wore our sweaters that way back in the 50-60s - the collegiate/preppy look.

Day 38 - 100 Day Wool& challenge

Hubby and I at the thank you lunch for the Carnival loyalty members. Hubby is wearing his wool polo shirt I found on ebay for him. I'm wearing my Everett with black pants, a Woolx short sleeve t-shirt, all topped with a scarf. It's windy and chilly today - sea day.

day 16 - 100 Day Wool& Challenge

Well, it's a new year and I'm determined to do the 100 days. A fresh start (helped along by the scales not showing a weight gain, even with my splurge of pizza and Twizzlers), getting a good night's sleep after a bad night before, and loving the way my Woolx Lola joggers from the BST group look with my Everett. Oh, any my little dressy shrug from Amazon tossed on top. I will have to take the shrug on my cruise.
