Cozy Comfortable Cuisine

I'm not talking about cooking or the food, I'm talking about the environment. Recently someone reminded me about one of our favorite spots to eat dinner when we lived in Cuenca, Ecuador.

Paladar's was a house that had been converted into a restaurant with each room being a private dining area. Our first visit there we were seated with two other couples in our upstairs (probably) bedroom. So cozy, and the food was great. After dinner we went downstairs and out to the garden area out back. The entertainment was a couple dancing the Argentine Tango - they had started by dancing through the house as we ate. The whole evening was delightful. SEE PHOTOS

As I thought about the times at Paladar's, I remembered one other restaurant that was inside a house. It was back in the late 1980s in Columbus, Georgia. While downtown, I noticed a sign for Burger King in front of a house. A normal, residential house. Hmmm, that was worth checking out. Inside had been converted to seating areas that retained the charm of the old home. I googled it and found it was closed and put up for sale in 2020 but you can scroll down to see some of the inside photos HERE.
