Cooking OOPS! Souping up the soup!

Yesterday I posted about a soup I was making and the OOPS I had with the pepper.

Well, it turned out way too hot for me. So today, I am adding another smoked sausage, a bag of frozen veggies, and some chicken broth in hopes I can tame it down.

I'll let you know how it works out.

Hey, at least hubby liked it!

What's your biggest cooking oops?

  1. Adding lemon or lime will help take away the spicy taste.
Add a little and taste until it’s how you like it.

Or you can add potatoes or rice to help tone down spice.

Some people say sugar works too, but I find that changes the flavour too much and makes soups sickly sweet.

  2. No potatoes or rice in the house, we are low carb. And no lemon/lime. Pretty basic here. LOL! I think just adding more to it will help. I could eat it but wouldn't drink the broth at the end as I normally do.

  3. Next time don't use pepper. Substitute a whole bottle of Tabasco sauce instead.
