Wednesday night, I got no sleep, but did take a two hour nap during the day. Last night I managed to sleep nine hours. Yay.
Yay, until 1:00-ish when I got my optical aura. For years, I never got the headache afterwards. That changed a couple years back. Now 50-60% of the time the aura is followed by a headache.
Today I'm the loser - getting off the computer and letting the TV watch me. I just started binging Heartland.
I used to get the aura and migraines once or twice a year, lately it’s been once or twice a week, so I know how you feel.
ReplyDeleteThe hematologist I see said to try a small cup of regular coffee before bed because some people get them due to a caffeine deficit hitting through the night.
It has helped me a lot, but occasionally I have to resort to Imitrex in order to function for work!
Mine have been a couple a month and I even had one twice in one day. Fortunately, many times I don't get a headache or if I do, it's a minor one. I've never gotten to the migraine level - yay! My daughter gets those. And coffee - all day long. LOL!
DeleteFor a time in my late 30's and early 40's, I would get several migraines a year. They started with the optical aura and progressed to the pain and sensitivity of light. I found that an OTC pain med that had both aspirin and caffeine helped me a lot. I'm not even sure they make it anymore. I would also get migraines if I flew (which I haven't in years but not for that reason) within a day after landing .So grateful that I haven't gone through one of these headaches in years. I'm sorry you suffer. Even if you never get the full migraine experience, it impacts you in some way.
ReplyDeleteI only hope mine stay at the current level, if I have to have them. In the past I've had headaches to put me to bed and I'd rather not do that again. Sigh...
